R/C sailing competition and spectating at the Spruce Point Inn dock and oceanside pool

In addition to a morning and afternoon of racing, the MMYC (Maine Model Yacht Club) will also provide opportunities for spectators to ask questions, inspect the boats, and even try their hand at sailing DF-65 & DF-95 model sailboats in Spruce Point Inn's oceanside pool. Spectators are also invited to inspect a variety of non-racing model yachts, which themselves are works of art.

The event is open to the public. Race day is scheduled for Sunday, June 23rd starting at 8AM, concluding around 4:30PM, followed by a trophy presentation on the Grandview Deck at 5PM. Rain date is scheduled for June 30th.

Cod Fish Race

Join us for one of Windjammer Days most famous (and infamous) events!  The first member of 4-person pod hops into fishermen’s oilskins and rubber boots, grabs up two slimy fish and races around a crowd-lined short course. Then, they pass their attire and fish on to the next teammate and so on until the race is complete.  The fastest time takes home a $100 cash prize and spectators enjoy endless laughs!

Please arrive at the starting line (by the Whale Park) 15 minutes before 2:00pm race start time and bring your completed entry form with you. First 10 pods to sign in in person at the start line will compete.  Don’t be late or you might miss your chance for everlasting glory — which is a small price to pay for really slimy, smelly hands!

No online entries accepted the day of the race.  On race day you must register in person.
